Biography

Letitia KING was born in 1772 in Cavangarden, Donegal, Ireland. She married Samuel BIRD in 1803 in Northern Ireland. She emigrated to New Brunswick some time before 1825 with her husband and son, and settled at Birdton, Parish of Douglas, York County, New Brunswick, about 1825. They Cleared there land and raised children . She died on March 2, 1868, in York, New Brunswick, Canada, at the impressive age of 96, and was buried there.

1) Robert Bird born 1804, died 1897, m. Charlotte Pugh born 27 Feb 1813, died 20 Nov 1867: had thirteen children:

2) Samuel Bird Jr. b. 1807, m. (1st) Mary Douglas b. 1820, d. 16 Apr 1867, d/o John and Margaret Isabella Douglas, m. (2nd) Ann - born 1821: settled in Douglas, NB and had eight children:

4) Margaret Bird born 1811, m. John Lockhart: went out west:

5) John Bird b. 1813, d. 1907, m. Ellen Gorman b. 1826: had eight children.
