Marilyn Joan Stewart was born on February 13, 1952, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The daughter of Basil Stewart and Faye Stewart her father, Basil, was 27 when she was born, and her mother, Faye was 23. Her parents had five sons and six daughters. She married Stephen Evans on May 16, 1970 in Taymouth. [1]They raised two children: Patrick and Jessica in Taymouth..
I attended a rural community school, within walking distance from my home. Our rural school was in many ways the center of the community. It was a happy time, lots of outdoor games and social events organized by our parents the school trustees.
Growing up in Taymouth, New Brunswick, Canada, I was surrounded by relatives and neighbours (Nashwaak families), who sparked in me a lasting interest in history and genealogy. I was immersed in family history thanks to the stories from my great Uncle Dan Stewart Dan Stewart and neighbour Rolf Munroe, Rolf Munroe,as well as my mother Faye Stewart: Faye Stewart and my aunt Ina Dodds -MacLaggan Ina Dodds-MacLaggan.
When I was age 10, Rolf Munroe , and my great Uncle Dan Stewart helped me with a public speaking event for my 4-H group. The topic I was given was local history. My great Uncle Dan Dan Stewart talked of life when he was a child told me stories and recalled memories his parents had passed to him, Rolf Rolf Munroe talked of the settlement of the Nashwaak and how and why they came to New Brunswick in 1783. Because of their kindness, and the time and effort they gave me, I won the public speaking contest. The story telling of Rolf and Dan, the mental pictures they created, has stayed with me, inspired me to continue learning about the area. My interest in local history and family history had been sparked for life. I began collecting everything, Nashwaak related.
Genealogy was a family interest, my aunt , Ina Dodds-MacLaggan, had begun researching family histories in 1938, genealogy of my ancestors, and ancestors of families who settled along the length of the Nashwwak River ( Nashwaak Families), Marysville to above Stanley. Ina along with my mother Faye Stewart, Compiled a book ; 1785-1885 NASHWAAK FAMILIES; Published by Nashwaak Bicentennial Association (1986) ISBN 10: 0969164726 ISBN 13: 978096916472. I joined them in genealogy research in 1980, and expanded on their research, concentrating on collecting genealogy of all who lived in the Parish of Saint Mary’s. I became a speaker /teacher on how to research, how to create family histories. see powerpoint speaker notes below "A beginners guide."[2]
In 2019, I made a promise to my Aunt Ina as she was passing, and to my mother, that I would pass on their research. My efforts at wikitree are my way of keeping that promise.Faye Stewart , Ina Dodds-MacLaggan and I Marilyn Stewart were Members of the Nashwaak Bicentennial Association and our work can be found at the Provincial Archives in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
In 1978 Marilyn became an attendant on a volunteer ambulance service in Stanley New Brunswick, the Nashwaak Divison 680 of Saint John Ambulance. In 1993 her volunteer service transformed into a fulltime paid position. After 40 years service she retired on Dec 14, 2018. She found life as a Paramedic and then Operations Manager of Stanley and District very rewarding.

Understand your focus on connections, but your Watchlist has 12647 profiles. This is very large. Our systems are designed to handle 5,000. Contributing to more than 5,000 profiles is great (the community thanks you for it!) but don't feel you have to keep so many on your Watchlist. Despite the terminology, there is no shame in "orphaning" Open profiles. :-) This invites others to share responsibility. Since you have more than 10,000, Bulk Trusted List changes tool may not work for you. If so, please contact [email address removed] for help reducing your Watchlist. with over 25 merges that need your attention, please try to spend some time working what is already on your watchlist. Thank you.....

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during a recent Saturday Sourcing Sprint. Please consider officially joining us for the Saturday Sourcing Sprints. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sprints Help page.
No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included in the Tracking Sheet's Unregistered total at the bottom of the help page if you do not register.
Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

PS If the link does not work, you can find a working one in the public comment I left on your profile.
I noticed changes on a profile that I manage: Louisa Rich, wife of Isaac Rich Jr. where you changed her parents and added a long line of DNA info and descendants. It's really important to collaborate on changes like this, and collaboration is item #1 on our Honor Code. I'm not at all savvy about DNA, so an explanation would be very helpful on how you are using DNA as a source to prove her newly-assigned parents, since changes like this require a source. Thanks!
Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Has the New Member How To Pages been helpful or has it left you with questions?
It's great to have you on board. Enjoy your time here, and good luck growing your branches. If you need help just click on my name you'll be transferred to my profile where you can post a message or send me a private message.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The United States Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comments on my profile.

May i suggest amending your tags so you have one tag for each name you are researching and the location, rather than have the words surname and location as your tags
If you create separate tags for your surnames, the tags become clickable links to pages of others who want to collaborate about that surname. With the surnames combined in a tag, that isn't possible. This link may help you [1] Your Wiki Genealogy Feed will show the activity connected to the surnames and places relating to your tags,

I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a name back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing
