Biography

Clara was born about 1871. She is the daughter of William King and Clara Hughes of Hokitika. ^[1]

She married Guthrie in 1897, and they lived in Ormondville where he worked as a roading engineer. Later they lived at Russell st, Gisborne. They were neighbours to Guthries niece’s property. ^[2] They had-

Guthrie died in 1940 and Clara returned to Taranaki to live near her family. She died in New Plymouth in 1954. ^[3]
