Biography

Catherine King was born in Lower Fathom, County Armagh in 1870. She was the daughter of Patrick King and Catherine Hollywood.

Her birth registration gives her date of birth as 26 August 1870^[1] however her baptism was recorded on 24 July 1870. Her sponsors were Dennis and Catherine Hollywood.^[2]

Catherine married John O'Keefe at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Cloughoge on 3 January 1895.^[3] They had ten children:

Catherine died of myocardial degeneration and senility at Cariff House, Dublin Road, Newry on 16 February 1960.^[4] She was 89.
