Biography
James was born on 23 October 1897 in Lower Fathom. He was the eldest son and second child of John O'Keefe and Catherine King.
He was an Able Seaman on the S.S. "Aigburth" when he drowned, as a result of an attack by an enemy submarine, or killed by mine on 5 December 1917. He was 20. His body was never found.
