Biography
Ray was born in York in 1947, the only child of Ernest and Winifred King. He lived in York till age 18 in Hull for 3 years teacher training, then in Greater Manchester till his forties. With his wife, Sheila he had two children. He gained a BA in mathematics with Open University when in his thirties. The family emigrated to the USA where Ray gained his M.Div. and was ordained as a Methodist minister. He worked as a minister in America before returning with his family to England and then in The Methodist Church till retirement. [1]

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
