Biography
Alan was the son of Alan's birth was registered in the Sculcoates district of East Yorkshire [1].
In 1911 Alan aged 3 was living at 27 Albion St, Sculcoates, Hull with his parents, Herbert Fawcett King (38) and Anne Letitia King (35) and his siblings John Gregory (7) Mary (5) and Henry Godfray (7 months). Herbert was a dental surgeon working from home. He was born in Yorkshire. Anne was born in Sheffield. All the children were born in Yorkshire, except baby Henry, who was born in Patrington, Yorkshire. Also in the household were a mother and (possibly) daughter cook and housemade and another housemade (all born Hull) and a nursmaid (British, but born in the US) [2].
Alan appears to have married Pamela C Watson twice, first in the March quarter of 1939 in the Holderness registration district, Yorkshire [3] and then again in the September quarter of the same year, also in Holderness [4]. At the second marriage, Pamela's surname was indexed both as Watson and King.
Alan died aged 79, in February 1987 [5].
