Soon after she was born, Julia moved with her parents to a farm in Section 32 of Orange Township, Cuyahoga, Ohio in 1818. [2]

Julia married Lucas Wilkes; son of Nathan Wilkes and his wife Mary, on 22 Jan 1834 at Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga, Ohio, [3] and they settled in nearby Orange Township.
Lucas and Julia had 4 sons and 1 daughter through 1842 in Orange Township before they moved to Johnstown Township, Barry, Michigan (~10 miles north of Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan), where they had 3 daughters and 2 sons through 1866, and where Julia died on 26 Nov 1891, [4] and where Lucas died on 27 Jan 1892.
