Eliza Jane King; daughter of Thomas King and Anna Goodrich, was born on 03 Apr 1821, ^[1] on a farm in Section 32 of Orange Township, Cuyahoga, Ohio that the family had moved to in 1818. ^[2]

Eliza married Joseph Alva Johnson on 20 Dec 1843 at Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga, Ohio, ^[3] and they settled in Mayfield Township, Cuyahoga, Ohio.

Thomas and Eliza had 4 sons born 1846-1861 in Mayfield Township before they moved to a farm in Johnstown Township, Barry, Michigan (~8 miles north of Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan), before the 1870 US Census, where Joseph died on 17 Oct 1875 ^[4] and where Eliza died on 14 Jan 1900. ^[5]
