Obituaries

MR ROBERT KING. On Sunday last Mr Robert King a resident of Chiltern for a several years, passed away at the Ovens District Hospital, Beechworth. The deceased, who was 64 years of age, resided in the Greta district, but subsequently he secured land at Upper Black Dog Creek, and later on on the Skeleton Creek. Despite the fact that he had only one arm, he was a hard worker, and was noted for his shrewd business dealings. His remains were interred in the Milawa cemetery on Tuesday. Two of Mr King's sons have enlisted, one being at the front, and the other in camp. ^[2]

Death of Former Resident-of Greta, Mr. Robert King, who for thirty years resided at Greta, where he carried on mixed farming, died in the Beechworth Hospital on Sunday, the cause of death being heart failure, The late Mr, King was well known, in the Greta district, and when his wife died there six years ago he removed to Chiltern, where he has since resided. He was born at Whittlesea, Vie., and was 63 years of age. He was married at Benalla, and leaves a family of seven daughters and five sons, 'amongst them being:

3. Mrs T. Bartley,
4. Miss Winnie
5. Miss Bella King, Wangaratta;
6. Pte. Skipper King, is in Egypt,
7. Pte. Stuart King is in camp at Narandera, N.S.,W.

Amongst the brothers and sisters of the,late Mr, King are Mrs R, Jeffrey, Hansonville, Mrs, B, Evans, Mansfield, Mr, John King, Northcote, and Mr. Henry King, Junee. Mr. King did not take any part in public life, The funeral took place yesterday, when the remains were interred In the Milawa cemetery the burial service being read by the Rev,. F' Chisholm, ^[3]
