Biography

Aubrey was born in 1915. He was 7 years old when his little brother Lee Kimball joined him in the family. He left his homeplace on Bass Mountain in southern Alamance County for "the city" as a young adult. Aubrey met and married Erma King^[1] and they had 5 children. He tried a lot of jobs, but working in textile mills is what stuck.^[2][3] He loved being busy and tried retirement three different times, but always ended up going back to work. Aubrey enjoyed woodworking and fast cars. He was a gentle and good man, loved by everyone he met. He last worked on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving in 2000, enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with his family, then passed away suddenly and quietly in his home workshop the next day.
