Simon Thomas Kanarr was born on 24 Nov 1869 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States, son of Jacob Kanarr (1843–1926) and Martha Jane (King) Kanarr (1849–1940).

Simon died on 28 Oct 1945 in White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 75.^[1] He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Simon married Annie Jane (Stephens) Kanarr (born on 24 May 1875 in White Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States; daughter of John Jones Stephens and Anna (Trimble) Stephens). Their known children were:

• John Raymond Kanarr (1899–1965)
• Herbert Day Kanarr (1917–1992)

Obituary

SIMON THOMAS KANARR, passed away Sunday morning, October 28th, in his home in White township. The deceased was a a son of the late Jacob and Martha King Kanarr and was born in Grant township, November 24th, 1869. He is survived by his widow, Annie Stephens Kanarr, and the following children: John R., White township; Ralph, Merle and Herbert, at home, and Clyde of Grant township; Mrs. Howard Henry, Armstrong township; Ruth, at home. Four sisters, Mrs. John P. Lydick, Cherryhill township, Mrs. Carrie Helman, Rayne township; Mrs. C. E. Henry and Miss Hester Kanarr, both of Indiana, also survive. Mr. Kanarr spent his entire life as a farmer and since moving from Grant township 62 years ago, had made his home in White township.
