Biography

Charlotte Hus dit Cournoyer was born on 7 December 1755 in Sorel, Nouvelle France, daughter of Charles Hus dit Cournoyer and Madeleine Marguerite Duval.

Charlotte (20) married André-Marie Dubreuil (21), son of André Dubreuil and Marie Anne Maguet, on 25 January 1776 at Saint-Pierre-de-Sorel. [1]Together, they had the following (known) children[2]:

  1. André, n. 19 Jan 1777, St-Charles-sur-Richelieu, d. 29 March 1810, St-Hyacinthe (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire); he married Marie Charles Charlotte PATENAUDE on 7 July 1800 at St-Joseph-de-Chambly
  2. Charlotte, n. 25 Sept 1778, Beloeil (St-Mathieu); she married Joseph BONNIER LAPLANTE on 11 January 1796 at St-Joseph-de-Chambly
  3. Marguerite, n. 26 April 1780, Beloeil (St-Mathieu), d. 12 July 1832, Chambly (St-Joseph); she married Joseph ROBERT FONTAINE on 26 Aug 1799 at St-Joseph-de-Chambly
  4. Charles, n. 6 Aug 1782, Beloeil (St-Mathieu), d. 14 Nov 1842, St-Jean-Baptiste-de-Rouville; he married Marguerite BROUILLET LAFITTE on 30 June 1812 at St-Mathias-sur-Richelieu
