Biography

John was born in Semaphore, South Australia during 1920. He is the son of William Hosler and Jane Munt. He passed away in South Australia during 1988.

John was born in Semaphore, South Australia on 16 June 1920.^[1] The following birth notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 25 June 1920:^[2]

HOSLER.- On the 16th June, at Swan-terrace, Semaphore, to the wife of W. Hosier (late A.I.F.)—a son (John James Edwin (Jack). Both doing well.

John served in the Australian Army during the Second World War. He enlisted in Adelaide, South Australia on 26 March 1940, and was discharged with the rank of Private with a posting in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force on 14 November 1944.^[3]

John died in South Australia on 7 January 1988 at the age of 67 years.^[4]

John's remains were cremated, and interred at the Centennial Park Cemetery in Pasadena, South Australia on 14 March 1988. A memorial service was held on 11 January 1988.^{[5] [6][7]}
