I'm a native Southern Marylander, born and raised in St. Mary's County, the Mother County of Maryland, who has been living and working in Florida since college graduation. I'm married with three children and have one grandbaby. I worked in mortgage banking for over 20 years, and now the second chapter of my work life is in the chiropractic health and wellness field.
Growing up, all I knew was that my parents families lived in Tennessee and Alabama, and had no idea that my ancestral roots went back to the earliest settlements of Southern Maryland and the Virginia Tidewater regions. These were the places I had been numerous times. My parents met and married there in St. Mary's County, Maryland. My dad ended up there stationed as an officer in the US Navy at the Pax River Naval Air Station, and my mother was recruited to come to Maryland to teach in the school system while she was teaching in her home state of Tennessee.
In school, we studied Maryland history, so finding these links in my family seemed to bring everything full circle for me. It seemed unbelievable actually.
Recently, I was approved as a member of DAR and I am very excited to continue genealogy work along with the other women in my local chapter. We are able to work together doing research and lineages with other interested members of this wonderful society. It's so interesting to me to find other patriots that I descend from other than my initial patriot ancestor used for my membership.
Ancestral research has been a passion project of mine, that was passed to me by both of my parents. I hope to uncover many more ancestors, along with all of the interesting stories that go along with the lineal facts. My hope is that my children will also have an interest in keeping family history alive in the future.
I am looking forward to collaborating here and am more than happy to help others in their quest.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
I’m going to suggest that the Virginia project might fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. Please add at least one source to each profile before you leave it.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

I see your DNA info on two members of your family (mother and father). (It is going to populate the ones you add which share part of the DNA, which you have.
The ones I see are: your father https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Horton-6920 and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/May-9415 your mother
After you have added 100 or so, let's discuss this again??
