On 31 October 1754, George immigrated to the colonies on the ship Bannister, which sailed from Amsterdam. His parents and his sister, Sarah Heinlein, were also on board.[1][4]
He married Sarah Bucher[citation needed] or Sarah Dykson Heinlein[1] in October of 1763 in Dixon/Dykson, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States.[citation needed]
George was a farmer in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania.[4]
He served in the Durham Militia during the Revolutionary War.[4][6]
In 1779, George purchased 100 acres from Walter Fields. The land was along Bougher Hill and north of the Bucks-Northampton County Line.[4]
After a long illness, he died 1 October 1805 in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States[1][2]
He was buried 2 October 1805 on his property in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States. The plot was laid out along the Old Durham Road by George himself, and was 50 by 36 feet. It contained a marble headstone in honor of George. The site became known as Heinlein's Graveyard.[1]
A medium white marker stood on his grave. Over time, the marker broke into two pieces and laid on the ground. In 1927, the marker was removed by direct descendant, Forest Edelman, Sr. of Philadelphia.[1]
By June of 1974, his farm and barn were no longer standing and the graveyard was covered in thick briars. Only one white silo remained. Old Durham Road had been renamed Springhill Road, and George's graveyard was on north side of it, only .15 miles east of the intersection of Sunnyside Road.[1]
George is buried at Bucher's Hill Family Plot in Durham, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States.[citation needed]
Note on Surname Heinlein is also spelled Hineline, Hinline, and Hinlein.[4] It is also spelled Hoenlein.[citation needed]
