Biography

I am a history enthusiast with a lot of time on my hands. I never know where my research, in history or genealogy, will take me.

In genealogy my main interests are certain PA-dutch families, such as Brotzman (including variants like Prutzman), Leinbach (including variants like Lineback, Linebaugh), Frey, Marker, Hatmaker (including Hoodmacher, Hutmacher), and Levering.

Thanks for your message, Srah. Actually, it is a good idea to leave a message on both pages. They have different managers and you want both to see your concern. I would not otherwise have seen your note and looked into it. I believe the mistake to be in the person added as the mother with no documentation. You found the "impossible" birth date. That with lack of sources makes the mother's profile suspicious. The best thing you can do with your profiles is add sources. ~Angela

Hi Sarah. Welcome to WikiTree. Thanks for your comment on Ellen Payne Calkins (Payne 1428). I left a message on that page in response. Your question should be asked on the profile of that supposed mother. Someone added that profile recently with no documentation and I believe it to be incorrect. I started Ellen's profile in 2011 and the mother was added in 2018. In any case, I left your question on the purported mother's profile and we'll see if the manager responds. Otherwise, the mother needs to be disconnected. Good catch on your part. ~Angela

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
