Biography

Louis was born in October 1868 in Baden, Germany. He was the son of Fred Hassler and Jacobina Zimmermann. In 1879, the Hassler family immigrated to the US aboard the ship S.S. Zeeland, departing from the port in Antwerp, and arriving in New York City. The Hasslers originally settled in Dakota County, Minnesota.
