He married Rhonda Geddes on August 14, 1971. Together they had 3 children:

Obituary

James Allen "Jim" Hassler, 53, Kalispell, Mont., formerly of the Minot area, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Jim was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Riverdale, N.D., to Fred and Mary (Schauer) Hassler. Jim graduated from Des Lacs High School in Des Lacs, N.D., in 1967. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1970.

He married Rhonda "Roni" Geddes on Aug. 14, 1971, in Kalispell. Jim and Roni were married for 13 years and had three children, Lisa Kay, Stacie Joelle, and Dustin James.

Jim worked in automotive parts sales in Montana and North Dakota for more than 30 years. He enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons with his family watching NASCAR and visiting outside on the deck.

His biggest joy in life was spending time with his three precious grandchildren who often argued over who got to sit on "Bumpa's" lap. He loved fishing with his children, especially his daughter, Stacie, and working on his pride and joy, his Chevy pickup truck.

Jim's life was short but the lives he touched and the love he gave to all who knew him will forever be remembered.

He is survived by his loving parents, Fred and Mary Hassler, of Minot, N.D., two brothers, Jeff Hassler, and his wife, Chris, of Butte, Mont., and Jerry Hassler and his wife, Mary, of Minot; three children, Lisa, Stacie and Dustin Hassler, of Kalispell; three grandchildren, Steffani Rasmussen and Kedryn McElderry, of Kalispell, and Brayden Gilmore, of Black Diamond, Wash. Jim will also be missed by numerous uncles and aunts, nieces, and nephews and many other friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Teri Rae, in 1993.
