Biography

Mary Hallett was born in 1710 in Queens County, New York,^[1] and baptized on August 6, 1713 at Hell Gate, Queens County, by parents Joseph Hallett and Lydia (Blackwell) Hallett,^[2][3] along with siblings Joseph, Moses and William. On December 20, 1728 she married William Creed in Newtown, Queens County.^[4][5]

Mary (Hallett) Creed died in March 1731/2, as recorded in the minutes of the Presbyterian Church of Newtown. The minutes reflect that the winter of 1731-32 decimated members of Mary's Hallett family.^[6]

On February 14, 1774 when Mary's husband William wrote his will, he named his later wife Phebe.^[7]
