Biography

Tom was born in Castleford, Yorkshire on 22 November 1900. He was the eldest child of John William Haley and his wife Margaret.

Tom sadly lost his father in mid-late 1903. For the next decade, he and his siblings would be raised by their widowed mother and her widower father. Their mother remarried in 1913 but was again widowed in 1915 when her husband was KIA in Belgium. In the 1921 census, Tom and his siblings can be seen living with their widowed mother and her widower father in Batley.

Tom appears in the 1939 register at 8 North Street, Batley. Tom passed away in the Spen Valley registration district in 1948.
