Biography

Magdeleine Helene Granger, daughter of Jean Baptiste Granger and Susanne Cormier, was born c.1780-c.1786 in Opelousas, Louisiana. Her parents were recorded and her birth location was implied on her marriage record. She was described there as their "major" daughter.

She gave birth to a daughter, Celestine Granger, on 25 June 1803. The child's father is unknown. She was baptized at St. Martin of Tours Church in 1812.^[1]

Magdeleine married Charles Simon, son of Jean Baptiste Simon and Magdeleine Aucoin, on 2 June 1807 by the priest at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana.^[1]

They had the following known children:
