Children of this marriage:
2nd Marriage
Charlotte Godin, widow of Pierre Frichet, married Pierre Laforest, on 27 Jul 1679 in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré.[6] (note: no parents named on this act)
7 known children, 4 known to marry[1]
Death and Burial
On 23 Mar 1736 was buried Marie Anne Charlotte Godin, veuve Legris (in margin), aged around 90, in Rivière-des-Prairies.[7]
Is this the same woman? René Jetté states that the child born in 1698 was a natural child, ie the parents were not married. The notarial act found which names a Pierre Legris and Charlotte Gaudin (variation of Godin), has been transcribed to say sa fille, should it in fact read sa femme? Pierre Legris certainly had no daughter by that name, nor did Corine Picoté de Belestre, widow of Michel Godefroy de Linctôt. No marriage has been found for Pierre Gris/Legris with a woman named Godin.
On 8 Jan 1698 Charlotte Godin gave birth to a son, Pierre, whose father was named Pierre Gris, the child was baptized on 12 Jan in Cap-St-Ignace. The baptism states fils de Pierre Gris et Charlotte Godin sa femme ie his wife, but there is no such marriage found. The boy died there on the 17th of January and was buried on the 21st at 14 days of age, and again Charlotte is listed as sa femme. [1]
