Pierre (Laforest) Laforest dit Labranche migrated from France to New France.

Birth : Vers 1646 sauveterre-st-denis, ev. agen, guyenne (ar. agen, lot-et-garonne)^[1] He was the son of Pierre Laforest and Marguerite Courbert.^[2]

The first record found for him in the colony is a concession by Mgr Laval in March 1678.

Death

On 1 Jan 1695 a man named Jacques Laforès was hospitalized in Hôtel-Dieu hospital of Québec. This would appear to in fact be Pierre Laforest

1695-01-01 — Laforès, Jacques, décédé le 4 janvier.^[7]

Pierre Laforest died on 4 January and was buried in the hospital's cemetery.^[8] There is no other funeral found for Pierre, nor is there trace of a man named Jacques Laforest being in the area in this era. Pierre was still living in October 1694 per the last notarial act found for him, and is definitely deceased before 9 August 1695 per the below act.

Note: This census has been taken as being Pierre Laforest and his wife with her children from her prior marriage. This cannot be them, none of the children fit the children that Charlotte Godin had with her first husband, and even her name is wrong.
