Paul was born in 1946 in Holyoke, Mass. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grammar school and Holyoke High School. In 1968 he earned a BS degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After earning a Masters degree in zoology from Syracuse University he went on to a Ph.D. in Animal Behavior and Ecology at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 1977. In 1974 Paul had the opportunity to travel to Antarctica to carry out behavioral research on Adelie penguins. It was at SUNY E.S.F. that he met and married Susan Davis in 1976. Paul spent 30 years teaching biology and environmental science at Lake Erie College in Painesville Ohio. He served in a number of administrative positions at the College including Department Chair and Associate Academic Dean. He retired in 2006 only to be called back to the College and appointed Interim Academic Dean for the 2006-2007 academic year. Now retired, Paul is an avid collector of antique tools. He and Susie enjoy a love of birding, gardening, canoe and kayaking, cross-country skiing and naturalizing as well as genealogical research. Paul and Susie are volunteers for Lake Metroparks, Western Reserve Land Conservancy and the Madison Food Center. They live and struggle to maintain and learn the history of their 183 year old home in Madison, Ohio.

My ancestry tree is also much better than my wikitree. I didn't do an upload onto wiki-the middle and latter years were already here....found a few cousins. Well, good luck! If there's anything I can help you with, give a yell! Take care, cousin! Linda
Welcome to the mess!! At the moment we are drowning in merges and "dit names" as well as alternatively spelled names. Drives me absolutely crazy!! I'm going to apologize up front in case I ever delete hard won information, because one thing I do is fix it and move on. I use nosorigines for most of my research even though I have been told that they have found mistakes on the site. Know what-I make mistakes all the time-even though I'm a goddess; HAH! Collaborating here is tough...when you have to "share" a relative with a handful of others and you want it one way and one or more "cousins" dont'. Well, I'll tell you...it's been a hell-of-a-ride since April!! Don't worry, you'll catch on fast. Sink or swim! Take care! Cousin Linda
Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having. How is your experience with Wikitree going? If you have questions regarding Gedcoms, here's the link to the GEDCOM help category: GEDCOMS
Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.
Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
Thank you for your decision to contribute. WikiTreers have all sorts of skills, but one common interest - genealogy. I would recommend first looking around and become familiar with the various functions.
The main menu, located at the top right of the page, offers access to the most important features amongst them your Wiki-ID. In the help section »G2G« at the bottom, youll find the WikiTree online help. You can ask all sorts of questions, technical and others, and because WikiTree is worldwide, there is almost always someone online, who can give a qualified answer. Good luck! - and don't forget to sign the Honor Code. Pleasure to have you onboard.
Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.
The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'
