Biography
Arthur was born in Christchurch NZ. He was the son of Ann Rapley and Henry Godfrey [1]
He married Kate Morgan in 1883. [2]
They had at least 7 children. They left Christchurch in 1894 to live in Hawera, where he worked as a gardener. They divorced in 1904 and Kate remarried John Cowie the same year.
"youngest child Lilian Maude Godfrey" gave a statement for the divorce. [3]
He died suddenly in 1927 and is buried in Palmerston North in the same cemetery as his ex wife. [4]

Ruth (Northey) Vincent
When researching Arthur I found an article in paper past just before his divorce from Kate. It listed his daughter Lilian Maude Godfrey as a witness and a statement from her, yet I cant find any other reference to this child. Anyone have any clues? He also said he had 7 children and these are the 7. Though I cant find Arthur's death, did he die in infancy and therefore missing from the count?
