H-I, 1897-1904 on page 81. There is also a note on their marriage record, “By written consent of mother of E. C. Jones” as Ella was 15 years old at the time of their marriage. ^[1]

James Marion Gillham was buried on May 25, 1940 at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri according to his death certificate. This headstone is shared with his wife, Ella C. (Jones) Mullen (1882-1960).^[12]

Research Notes

Place of Birth - It is not clear whether James Marion Gillham was born in Arkansas or Missouri as there is conflicting information in the following records as follows:

• 1880 & 1900 US Census lists the place of birth for James Marion as Arkansas, while all others afterwards list his place of birth as Missouri.
• Death Certificate lists place of birth as Barry County, Missouri. It's difficult to say how reliable the information provided is since there is no name listed for the "informant". Whoever this individual was providing the information did not know his mother's maiden name and only knew the state of birth for James's parents.
