Biography

Mary Gillam, daughter of John Gillam and his wife, Elizabeth Dowlen, was born either in Cowfold or in Bolney in Sussex about 1826. By 1841 she was in service at Horsham. ^[1]

St Mary Magdalene.

She married Henry Mansbridge at St Mary Magdalene, Bolney on 12 July 1851. ^{[2] [3]} Henry was a farmer in a small way and in 1861 was farming 3 acres at Bolney. ^[4] Henry died in 1866 ^[5] and Mary moved to Horsham with her younger children where she worked as a charwoman. ^[6]

Mary died in 1874 aged 48. ^[7]
