James S Giffin was born 28 Feb 1794, the son of George Giffin and Margaret Pride of Louis Head, Nova Scotia[1][2]
His first wife was Catherine Lewis, who died probably about a year after marriage, possibly in childbirth or shortly thereafter. There were no living children from this marriage.[1][2]
Circa 1826, he married Annie Harding circa 1826. She was born June 11, 1802 in Port L'Hebert, Shelburne County, died in Louis Head of paralysis, , March 19, 1877, age 75[1][2][3][4]
Jane born December 1831; died January 23 1905[5]; on June 1, 1859 married Captain Colin McDonald, who was drowned in December 1868. He was the son of Ranald and Eleanor Roberts McDonald; Jane and Colin's children included Ida McDonald Brigham, who died in Swampscott Mass; Ranald; and Janes, who was born after his father's death, and died at age 6 months[1][2]
Priscilla, born 1834; died May 6, 1856 without issue; who married October 4 1855 John Richardson. His second wife was Catherine Giffin, daughter of George and Margaret Ann (Ringer) Giffin[1][2]
Lydia[3], who married Captain John Robertson on September 7, 1867[1][2][6]
