Biography

• Whitman Giffin was born in 1843, the son of James and Anne Harding Giffin of Louis Head^[1]
• On July 25, 1876, he married Katherine Chadsey, (who was born in Lockeport, Nova Scotia 1846-1850, the daughter of Whitman and Kate (Boucher) Chadsey, and who died in Swampscott, Massachusetts January 29, 1929)^[2], and they had children^{[3] [4]}, including:

1. Ward Chadsey born December 3, 1876^[5] ; who died in Boston on February 1, 1929^[6], unmarried
2. Robertson, born 1879, who was captain of a fishing Schooner out of Gloucester, Mass. He married Jennie McCue, MD. Jennie had been married previously, and McCue was believed to have been her maiden name. Robertson died in Swampscott, Massachusetts December 4, 1938.^[7][8]
3. James Whitman, born 1881, was the captain of an ocean liner, and his wife was named Bertha. They had no children.
