Emanuel Friedenheit was born on 31 August 1876 in New York City. His parents were Gerson Friedenheit (1833-1920) and Fannie Winklein (1840-1921).[1]

In 1880, Emanuel was residing with his parents, nine siblings, and his maternal grandmother at 320 55th Street in Manhattan. His father was working as an insurance broker for fire and life insurance. The middle children Leon, Rachel, Simon, and Sarah were attending school, while the younger children including Emanuel stayed at home.[2]

Emanuel passed away at age five on 5 February 1882 in Manhattan, New York County, New York. He was buried on 8 February at Machpelah Cemetery in Queens, New York.[1]
