Biography

Marie Helene was born 7 Nov 1777. She was the daughter of Jacques Foucher and Genevieve Turcot. She was baptized the next day in Ste-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, godparents were Pierre Turcot and Judith Canac. ^[1]

On 8 Nov 1808, in Ste-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Pierre L'Heureux adult son of Pierre L'Heureux and Marie Josette Dompierre married Magdeleine Foucher (this is the only document naming her Magdeleine, all other documents refer to her as Helene, this is likely a mistake) adult daughter of Jacques Foucher and Genevieve Turcot. Witnesses include both fathers, no signature. ^[2]

On 24 Feb 1824, in Ste-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, François Canac dit Marquis, adult son of Jean Canac dit Marquis and Marie Lepage married Helene Faucher widow of Pierre L'Heureux. Witnesses include groom's father and brother, his brother signs along with the groom. ^[3]

Hélène Faucher, 83 year old wife of François Canac dit Marquis, died 27 Oct 1859. She was buried the next day in Ste-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans. ^[4]
