Biography

On December 20, 1887, Joseph Alfred Dubreuil was born in Wauregan (Plainfield), Windham County, Connecticut, the son of Francois Xavier Dubreuil and Lucie Guilbault. He was noted to be the 7th living child of 8 children born to his mother. [1]Family recollection is that he was born during a snowstorm.

He legally changed his name to Fred Delor Wood in 1920, right before his marriage to Doris Irene Main. [2]

He married Doris Irene Main at St Patrick's Cathedral in Norwich, Connecticut,

They adopted their nephew, Eugene Krause, when he was about a month old, following the death of Eugene's mother, Florence (Main) Krause, (this individual's sister in law), who never recovered fully after his birth.

Together, Fred and Doris had two daughters, [redacted because still living] Wood, and Helen Irene Wood (she went by Irene).[3]

Fred worked as a wireworker/lineman for many years with the Southern new England Telephone Company.

He was a Sergeant in World War I. [4]. His daughter recalls that he also participated in community theater for several years.

He passed away on July 18,1962
