Biography

Hilaire was born on January 28, 1817, the son of Charles Dubreuil and Marguerite Brouillette. [1]

He married three times.

First Marriage

He first married Marguerite Chagnon dit Larose, on November 19, 1844, at Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-Rouville. [2]. Together, he and Marguerite Chagnon had the following known children:

  1. Philomené Dubreuil, b. 20 Sept 1845
  2. Hilaire Dubreuil, b. 20 Dec 1848

His first wife, Marguerite, died about two weeks after the birth of her second child, Hilaire. [3]

Second Marriage

He married Virginie Quemeneur dit Laflamme on October 16, 1849, at Saint Denis, Richelieu, Québec. [4] Together, they had the following known children:

  1. Francois Xavier Dubreuil, b. 23 July 1850, married Lucie Guilbert
  2. Joseph Dubreuil, b. 31 October 1851, d. 26 July 1852
  3. Marie Dubreuil, b. 6 Nov 1852
  4. Sophie Dubreuil, b. 5 Jan 1854, d. 26 May 1854
  5. Alphonse Dubreuil, b. 17 March 1855, d. 30 July 1855
  6. Napoleon Dubreuil, b. 30 Nov 1856, d. 5 March 1866; married Arthemise Sansoucy.
  7. Sophie Dubreuille, b. 16 May 1859, d. 19 Aug 1859

Unfortunately, his second wife died on the day she gave birth to their last child, Sophie Dubreuille. He was left with five young children and thus remarried about 9 months later.

Third Marriage

On February 13, 1860, he married Angelique Ravenel dit Lalime at St. Liboire, Bagot, Quebec. [5]
