Gleanings from "The Kinmundy Express - January 18, 1884: Compiled by Dolores Ford Mobley, Some weeks ago the Express made mention on authority of Mr. Samuel NEVILS, that Iola, Clay county, was a good place to establish a lumber yard. Acting upon this information, Mr. Frederick DISS of this city, went there on a tour of investigation. Finding things just as stated, made arrangements to engage in the lumber trade at that point, and by the first of February expects to have a full stock of all kinds of building material there. Frederick died (age 68 Yr) on 26 Apr 1893 in Decatur, Macon, Illinois.[9]

Frederick passed away on 25 Apr 1893 in Walnut Grove addition, Decatur. His death was reported by his next door neighbor, D. M. Conway. After an inquest, his death was from natural causes, probably heart failure. Survivors include 2 sons and 1 daughter.[10]

Funeral services for Frederick were private before being interred in Gray Cemetery, Kinmundy, Marion County, Illinois.[11]
