Lewis Dennison was born about 1870 in Hillburn, Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, United States, son of Samuel Patrick Dennison and Mary Jane Morgan.

In the 1880 census, Louis (age 9) was the son of Samuel Dennison in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York.^[1]

Lewis married Hetty Stewart Amherst. They had children.

1. Clifford Dennison was born about 1891 in New York; married Sarah Ann Carles on June 1, 1912 in Orange County, New York.^[2]

Lewis married Addie Anherst before the 1900 census. They had children.

1. Maud Dennison was born March 22, 1893 in Hillburn, Ramapo, Rockland County, New York; married Atwood A Caldwell on June 6, 1915 in Palisades, Rockland County, New York.^[3][4]
