Julia Dennison is a part of US Black heritage.

Julia Dennison was born in 1858 in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, United States, daughter of Samuel Patrick Dennison and Mary Jane Morgan.

In the 1860 census, Julietta (age 1) was in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York.[1] In the 1870 census, Julia (age 13) was in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York.[2] In the 1875 census, Julia (age 15) was a servant in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York.[3]

Julia (20) married Winfield VanDunk (25) on June 6, 1879 in Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey.[4] They had children.

  1. Ida VanDunk was born about 1882. She may not belong to this family.
  2. William VanDunk was born June 1883/1885 in New Jersey.
  3. Dora VanDunk was born October 1885 in New Jersey.
  4. Sophia VanDunk was born May 1888 in New Jersey.
  5. Maria VanDunk was born May 1892 in New Jersey.[5]
  6. Viola VanDunk was born April 15, 1895 in Mahwah.[6][7]
  7. Katie H VanDunk was born July 1899 in New Jersey.

In the 1880 census, Julia (age 21), was the wife of Winfield S. Vandunk in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York.[8] In the 1900 census, Julia (age 41) was the wife of Winfield Dunk in Ho-Ho-Kus, Bergen County, New Jersey.[9] In the 1905 census, Julia (age 46) was in Bergen County, New Jersey.[10] In the 1910 census, Julia (age 51) was the wife of Winfield Van Dunk in Ho Ho Kus, Bergen County, New Jersey.[11]

Julia died in 1915. She is buried in the Ramapo Reformed Church Cemetery in Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey.
