Biography

Louis Joseph Sire, son of Jean Cyr and Francoise Melanson was baptized 29 Dec 1718 in Beaubassin, Acadia. No date of birth was recorded. His godparents were Charles Bourgeois and Marianne Sire.[1]

Louis Joseph married Marie Josephe Cormier about 1739 in Acadia. These are their known children:

  1. Joseph CYR b: 4 Jun 1740 in Beaubassin, Acadia c: 4 Jun 1740 in Beaubassin, Acadia
  2. Jean Baptiste CYR c: 2 Oct 1741 in Beaubassin, Acadia

  4. Marie Rose CYR b: Abt 1745 in Acadia

Changed parents to agree with source. He had been linked to a brother of Jean Cyr, Guillaume. Both brothers were having children around the same time.

Note: the source I found has different parents than the ones currently on the profile. See here. I have access to the DGFA but haven't had a chance to look this one up. What do you think?
