Biography

When James Edward Coyer (birth name: James Edward Carriere, went by: Eli Coyer) was born on July 14, 1855, in Ash, Michigan, his father, Joseph, was 36 and his mother, Jeannette Vermette, was 32. He married Mary Josephine Allore (a.k.a. Mary Allard) on August 11, 1874, in Newport, Michigan.^[1] They had 11 children in 25 years. He died on October 6, 1916, in Battle Creek, Michigan, at the age of 61, and was buried in Pinconning, Michigan.^[2][3]
