Isabel Conyers was a descendant of several Magna Carta surety barons (see text, below).

Isabel was the daughter of "Robert Conyers and Isabel Pert. Her birth date and place are not known. Her father had lands in Durham and Yorkshire.[1][2] Her mother was born in about 1387 and she was probably a younger child with several older siblings: with that in mind, her birth year has been guesstimated as about 1415.
Isabel married Thomas Clervaux, son of John Clervaux of Croft, Yorkshire.[1][2][3] Their marriage date is not known, but is likely to have been before 1431: that year they were both mentioned in her father's Will (though not explicitly as husband and wife).[4] They had at least two children:
Isabel's death date and place are not known.
John Nichols in his History and Antiquities of the County of Leicester incorrectly says that Thomas Clervaux's wife, the daughter of Robert Conyers, was called Alice, not Isabel.[5] That this is an error is clear from her father's will which names her as Isabel.[4] She is also named as Isabel in Flower's Visitation of Yorkshire.[3]
