Fille de François Coignart et de Françoise Petit, de la paroisse St-Sauveur, de la ville de Rouen en Normandie, née vers 1643 [1] (76000, Seine-Maritime) (38 ans en 1681 au recensement)
Elle arrive à Québec le 30 juin 1669 à bord du vaisseau Le St-Jean-Baptiste[2] comme fille du roy, apportant des biens estimés à 350 livres plus un don du roi de 50, ne sachant pas signer.[3]

Le 29 octobre 1669 à Notre-Dame de Québec, Robert Germaine, fils de feu Julien Germaine et de Julienne Benais (ou Bevais), de la paroisse St-Sauveur du bourg de Lonlay Labbé, évêché du Mans, épousa Marie Cagnart, fille de François Cognart et de Françoise Petit, de la paroisse de St-Sauveur en la ville de Rouen, en présence de Jean François Bourdon sieur de Dombourg, Nicolas de Roissy, et Pierre Bouvier, le curé de Québec Henry de Bernières officiant.[5]
Enfants du mariage, ils sont établis à Neuville.

Tous les enfants naissent à Dombourg (qui deviendra Neuville lorsque la seigneurie changera de seigneur). Plus tard, ils serong établis à Portneuf. En 1700 Marie fut hospitalisée à l'Hôtel-Dieu de Québec.
Décès
Marie Cognac fut admise à l'Hôtel-Dieu de Québec le 2 mai 1715, où elle décède le 22.

A marriage contract was done between Robert Germaine and Marie Cognard on 14 October 1669 before notary Pierre Duquet. [4]
On 29 October 1669 in Notre-Dame de Québec, Robert Germaine, son of the late Julien Germaine and of Julienne Benais (or Bevais), of the parish of St-Sauveur in the bourg of Lonlay Labbé, diocese of the Mans, married Marie Cagnart, daughter of François Cognart and of Françoise Petit, of the parish of St-Sauveur in the city of Rouen, in the presence of Jean François Bourdon sieur de Dombourg, Nicolas de Roissy, and Pierre Bouvier, the curé of Québec Henry de Bernières officiating.[5]

All the children were born in Dombourg (which will become Neuville when the seigneurie will change seigneur). Later, they will be in Portneuf. In 1700 Marie was hospitalized in Hôtel-Dieu de Québec.
Death
Marie Cognac, 60 years old, was admitted to Hôtel-Dieu hospital on 2 May 1715, where she died on the 22nd of May.[9] She was buried in the hospital cemetery on the same day.[10]
