Biography

Filippa Ciravolo is born and baptized 28 January 1790 in Corleone, named after her maternal grandmother. She is the daughter of Andrea Ciravulo and Giacinta Carrabba. Her godparents are Nicolo' and Gaetana Pirrone, brother and sister, both unmarried.^[1]

Filippa marries Benedetto Geraci, son of the late Calogero Geraci and the living Rosa Lanza, on 19 October 1806.^[2]

Filippa and Benedetto have at least one child, Andrea (c. 1827).

Don Andrea is a schoolteacher. He marries Donna Maria Concetta Palazzo on 5 February 1851. His father has died by this time. Fourth degree consanguinity is detected, but this does not impede the union.^[3]

Death

Filippa, the widow of Benedetto Geraci, dies at the reported age of 45 on 24 July 1837 in Corleone.^[4]
