Created 1725 for Peter King of Exeter, Devon. He was ennobled by George I and appointed Lord Chancellor.
The seventh Lord King, Baron of Ockham (William King, later King-Noel) was elevated to Viscount Ockham and Earl of Lovelace in Queen Victoria's coronation honours of 1838.
