Biography

Francesca was born in 1827 to Maestro Antonino Cascio, a baker, and Rosalia Formica ^[1]. In 1845 at age 18, she married 27-year-old Maestro Antonino Russo, a shoemaker ^[2]. They had at least one child. She was widowed in 1848 while 2 months pregnant with daughter Antonina Russo. In 1851 at age 23, she married 24-year-old Maestro Francesco Bilello, a miller ^[3]. She died 9 months after marriage, in 1852 ^[4]. Childbirth is a likely suspect, but not confirmed.
