Dorotea was born about 1816 [1] to Antonino Cascio and Rosalia Formica [2]. In 1834 at age 18 she married 23-year-old Giuseppe Ferraro, described as middle class [3].
Dorotea was named for her maternal grandmother, Dorotea Rotolo.
