Biography


Antonina lo Cascio is born and baptized 1 December 1783. She is the daughter of Teodoro lo Cascio and Anna Crapa. Her godparents are Michaele Pinnino, who is unmarried, and Francesca, wife of Pasquale Marcello.[1]

In 1807, both her parents have died, and Antonina, reportedly age 21 (she is 23), lives with her brother Angelo, 20 (b. 1787), and sister Carmela, 15 (b. 1792), afaccio S. Maria (overlooking Santa Maria) in Corleone.

Antonina marries twice, first to Luciano Puccio, on 3 February 1811.

Antonina and Luciano have at least six children: Maria (1811), Concetta (c. 1812), Anna (1814), Lucia (1817), Marco (1820), and Teresa (1825).

Maria is born and baptized on 9 December 1811, ten months after her parents marry. Her godparents are Pietro and Bernarda Campagna, a married couple.

Anna is born and baptized 16 October 1814, named after her maternal grandmother. Her godparents are Bernardo and Leoluchina Gennaro, a married couple.

Lucia is born and baptized 15 November 1817. Her godparents are Leoluca and Nicolena Finocchio, a married couple.

Concetta is known from the record of her death at age four (b. 1812) on 13 February 1816.

Marco is born and baptized on 8 January 1820, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Girolamo Crapa and Bernarda Campagna, wife of Pietro.

Teresa is born and baptized on 16 February 1825. Her godparents are Don Girolamo Gennaro and Bernarda Ragusa, who are not married.

Lucia dies at age ten (b. 1817) on 14 October 1827. Her father, Luciano, has died by this time.

Antonina marries a second time, to Rosario Jemmola, who is also a widower, on 9 January 1830.

Rosario dies at age 40 (b. 1892) on 9 August 1832. Antonina survives him.

Anna marries Pietro Caronia on 18 January 1835. Luciano has died by this time.

Anna dies, reportedly at age 28 (she is 26) on 14 September 1841, the widow of Pietro.

Marco marries Francesca d'Amico on 29 April 1849.

Death of Antonina

Antonina dies at age 68 (she is about 67) on 14 January 1853. The record of her death calls her the daughter of Angelo Cascio and Oliva Crapa, and calls her second husband Rosario, Vincenzo Jemmola.

Marco dies, reportedly at age 41 (he is 44) on 23 April 1864, survived by his wife, Francesca.
