Gaspare Castro is born and baptized 15 January 1802 in Corleone, named after his maternal grandfather. He is the son of Carmelo Castro and Anna Cataudo. His godparents are Matteo Pirrone and Lucia Collura, who are not married.
In the 1807 stato delle anime, Gaspare is six years old (b. 1801), and living with his parents, two older brothers, and a younger sister, on the strada grande di S. Elena, in Corleone.
Gaspare marries Salvatrice Sardegna (b. ~1804) on 10 January 1830. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living.
Gaspare and Salvatrice have eight known children: Angelo (1831), Carmelo (1833), two sons named Francesco (1836 and 1843), Vincenzo (1839), Lucia (1842), Leoluca (1846), and Anna (1848).
Angelo is born and baptized 18 October 1831. His godparents are Giovanni and Giuseppa la Venuta.
The first son named Carmelo, after his paternal grandfather, is known from the record of his death in infancy on 3 June 1832.
The second son named Carmelo is born 28 April 1833 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Rosario and Rosa Oliveri, brother and sister.
The first son named Francesco is born 3 March 1836 in Corleone, based on an indexed baptismal record on FamilySearch. He dies on 2 September 1838 at two and a half years of age.
Vincenzo is born and baptized on 1 April 1839. His godparents are Pietro and Anna Maria Birrittella, brother and sister.
Lucia is born 2 January 1842 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Francesco Salemi and Carmela Birtone, a married couple. She dies at twelve days of age.
The second son named Francesco is born and baptized on 10 March 1843. His godparents are Giuseppe Spatafora and Leoluchina, a married couple.
The second Francesco dies on 22 July 1845 at two years and three months of age.
Leoluca is born and baptized on 10 February 1846. His godparents are Michaele Listi and Filippa Cascio, a married couple. He dies on 15 June 1847 at a year and four months of age.
Anna is born 30 September 1848 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Salvatore and Antonia Profita, brother and sister.
Anna dies on 26 July 1849 at ten months of age.
Vincenzo marries Rosalia Salerno on 15 January 1860.
Carmelo dies, reportedly at age 45 (he is 42) on 22 September 1875. He is unmarried.
Salvatrice dies at age 72 (b. 1804) on 3 December 1876.
Gaspare dies, reportedly at age 78 (he is 79) on 28 May 1881.
