Biography

Sarah was featured in a Meet Our Members Post on the WikiTree Blog!

I was born in Miami, Florida to two parents whom by chance met in Miami. My mother was born in Guatemala, and she split her time between Miami, Guatemala and Pennsylvania as her father traveled a lot for work. My father was born in Virginia and moved to Florida with his mother, but he did a lot of traveling himself.

My grandmother, Bennie Callis, was an avid researcher of her genealogy, which eventually got me hooked after going through the books and documents she had. I slowly took home book by book to add to my collection while I was compiling what she had gathered and also starting my own research to try and find what she had not.

Hi Sarah,

Checking in to see if you are going to help out with the July Connect-a-thon. I am helping out Debi and Tabor since they are both gone. I was not sure if you switched teams, looking at Chris's staement below.

Hi!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hello Sarah,

We wrote to you about the changes in the Profile Improvement Project (PIP) a couple of weeks ago. If you would like to continue with the Project, we can place you in the Biography Team, Level 1 where you can work on improving profiles from your own watchlist to Level 1 of the Profile Standards.

We would like to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions. If you do not wish to participate in the Project, please let us know. If we don’t hear from you within 7 days we will remove you from the Project, but we will welcome you back at any time.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Dear Sarah,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team who guide new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. Please let us know which team(s) you would like to participate in.

For those of you who joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018, we would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you plan to join the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If you’re at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). You will find more information on the GoogleGroup.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:

Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.

We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Hi, Sarah,

It seems that the image near the top of the page of the Arborists project is not showing up. You could try changing it from unlisted to another privacy level.

Hello, Sarah!

Thanks for your participation during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.

Kind regards,

Pippin Sheppard ~ WikiTree’s Appreciation Team

Hi Sarah, excellent work on the chats. Thanks so much for taking on that task. I seem to have missed my door prize. Is it too late?? If so, not to worry.... It would be great to catch up anyway.

Hi Gillian! :)

Eowyn will be reaching out after the Scan-a-Thon to get your details and send the shirt, it isn't like the Source-a-Thon where you only have one chance.

We do need to catch up!

Thanks.

Once again you were a great team leader. The Thon was fun and I think we did a lot of good. It was fantastic using the Chat to talk with the other members. It really did help. I look forward to the next time.
