Bennie Greye was named after her father Benjamin, Bennie for short, and she was the youngest of the seven children. She led a very active life, doing almost anything and everything under the sun. She worked at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Washington D.C., and even taught Mrs. Roosevelt how to dance! She worked as a Secretary in the Air Force located in Minnesota and Canada. Then she was a teacher where she met her husband who was the principal of the same school. They had a farm, insurance company and several ice cream stores. They had their first and only child, and ten years later her husband passed away. She moved down to Florida where her sister was, since the insurance company didn't let her keep owning the place by herself. In Florida she started doing real estate and leased condos out in Key Biscayne. She eventually retired and spent her time doing genealogy, painting, doing word puzzles, and playing bridge along with spending time with her granddaughters. She died in her home in 2014. Her memory lives on while her granddaughter Sarah continues her genealogical research.
She wrote a very long and complete memoir, with subsequent notes that have yet to be fully digested. She also kept everything, plane and train tickets, receipts and more. At some point it will all be added.
