Herbert O Brock was born in November of 1869 in Danby, Tompkins, New York. He was a son of Alfred Brock and Hannah Woodruff. From 1870 through 1880, he lived with his parents and siblings in Danby.[1][2]
Herbert married Jennie E Clapp on November 30, 1899 in Trumansburg, New York. In 1900, they lived in Ithaca, Tompkins, New York and Herbert worked as a house painter.[3] In 1905, they lived in Covert, Seneca, New York. He worked as a carriage painter.[4] They had no known children.
"Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Brock of Ithaca, Arthur Brock of Brooklyn and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Raisin and two children of Syracuse were here to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. Hannah Brock."[5]
In 1910, the couple lived in Ithaca, Tompkins, New York and Herbert worked as a painter in a shop.[6] In 1920, Herbert’s father-in-law lived with them in Waverly, Tioga, New York. Herbert worked as a car painter for the railroad.[7]
In 1930, the couple lived in Horseheads, Chemung, New York. Herbert was now working as a poultry man for a poultry farm.[8]
By 1940, his sister was living with the couple in Tully, Onondaga, New York. He was working as a painter at an auto and carriage company.[9]
He died on January 19, 1949 of a brief illness after suffering a paralytic stroke. He died in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.[10]
